In the late 1800’s, Wm. L. Morris and his parents moved from Tennessee to California and worked on a farm in San Fernando. He and his business partner, Charles B. Chapman, ran a dealership for almost 15 years and in 1927, Chevrolet contacted Mr. Morris with regards to opening a dealership in Ventura County. Due to the booming citrus industry, it was decided that Fillmore would be the perfect location. The dealership was first opened in 1929 and has continued to exponentially flourish. William L Morris Sr. had two sons: William L. Morris (1925) and John Chapman Morris Sr. (1930). Today, Wm. L. Morris Chevrolet is still operated by brothers John Chapman Morris Jr. (Chap) and Wm. L. Morris III (Bill). They can be found doing all sorts of things within the dealership, from helping customers to delivering vehicles, and even from answering questions to occasionally helping in the café. The business developed on ideas of integrity and genuinely caring for its customers, and that is something that the dealership still holds dear to our heart. Little things always go a long way, and we welcome everyone to come in and see the hospitality first hand. Since 1929 we have conducted business with integrity, trust, and a commitment to our customers. Our dealership has been family owned and operated for over three generations.
